This section of the site will be in two parts. One will focus on the history of the machines we call helicopters and the second will discuss the development of the radio control helicopter that occurred many decades latter. The first part is relatively easy to research as the history is fairly well documented. the second was surprisingly more difficult as there seems to be a lot of conflicting information on the models. Perhaps this is due to the nature of the "hobby" verses our full scale counterparts. Many still look at the models as toys and not the actual flying machines that they are.
